Tips to attract more customers using social media marketing in 2023?

Social Media Marketing:

Social Media Marketing (SMM) is the practice of leveraging web 2.0 platforms including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube etc. to achieve business objectives or gain market share. Social networks are free tools where users create digital communities through blogs, timelines, videos, events, games, discussions forums etc. These online communities provide interactive experiences where members can collaborate on projects, express themselves freely and communicate directly with each other.

By 2007, Internet penetration exceeded 50% globally, thus became a powerful engine that enables SMEs reach out to consumers that might not have been possible otherwise. In an increasingly global market place, companies need to reach potential customers in a meaningful way that reflects their target customer profile. Social Media Marketing provides businesses with a cost-effective channel to connect and interact with current and potential consumer base. SMM is effective in creating brand awareness, increasing product sales, establishing authority factors, providing search engine optimization and gaining positive publicity. There are three primary types of paid social media advertising: Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Content Advertising, and Social Network Ads.

Each type of ad pays differently – SEO ads rank highly on search engines, while content ads appear on sites that focus on specific topics. Social network ads, however, only show up on social media websites such as Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. Marketers may use public relations to promote their products and services. Publicity includes press releases about new products and developments within existing products, articles written about the company or its people, and activities organized by the company to get noticed by journalists. A PR professional is hired to help coordinate interviews, respond to press inquiries, handle media requests and prepare materials for publication. Journalists who want to write about a subject are generally looking for experts who can give them information they cannot find elsewhere. As more students graduate from college, many are finding jobs through recruitment agencies.

Job recruiters often hire graduates because they know how to find job candidates through networking. Many career paths can be described as “following your passion” and starting a business can be just as rewarding despite hard work and little financial reward at first. However, you should always keep your eyes open for new opportunities and explore different career fields before making any decision. You don't necessarily need a four year degree to start a business. Many small businesses are started without any formal education at all. Starting a business requires creativity, perseverance and determination. But if you love what you do, then it can be worth it.

There's no doubt that the internet is here to stay and sooner than later 90% of people worldwide will be connected to the internet. Every day we read/hear news stories related to the internet being used for different purposes and more importantly scams to defraud unsuspecting members of the public especially those seeking legitimate employment.

1. Facebook

Facebook is one of the best platforms available for marketers today. If you want to reach out to many people, then it's the right place to start. You'll find that Facebook is free, easy to use, and offers great benefits for both small businesses and entrepreneurs. According to recent statistics, 81% of teens have a Facebook account.

Facebook ads are the best way to get your business out there. The great thing about Facebook is that if you have a business page set up then you already have fans which means people who could become customers. You need to make sure they know your company exists though so first signup to facebook and create a small business page. Use facebook ads to promote your page if you wish, but don't spend money until you get at least 10 likes. Once you have achieved this, you should start promoting your page using paid advertising. If you want to increase traffic to your website then you can use Adwords to target keywords related to your product or service.

2. Twitter:

Twitter is a microblogging platform where users can share short messages (tweets) online. Many companies are now using Twitter as a way to connect directly with customers. Twitter is also widely popular among celebrities and news outlets alike. Because it is such a useful tool, it's no wonder that 87% of U.S. adults follow someone on Twitter.

Make sure you follow relevant people in your industry and add them to your list of followers. Post interesting tweets, but do not spam people's timelines, and try to retweet other people's content. Get involved with hashtags and trends to gain more online attention.

3. LinkedIn

LinkedIn is similar to Twitter in that it gives its members the opportunity to post updates about their professional lives, but they differ in how the website works. Whereas Twitter focuses mainly on 140-character text posts, LinkedIn provides an environment for professionals to build business relationships and display their work history. In fact, according to research published in 2013 by the Content Marketing Institute, 71 percent of B2C brands were found to have a LinkedIn page.

Your LinkedIn account is just like your resume, only you link it with your professional network. You can add friends and colleagues who work at companies you wish to land a job at.

4. Google+

Google+ is yet another social media option for internet users. It was once considered a competitor to Facebook at first, but it still has not caught fire with social media users. That said, if you're interested in reaching a wider audience, Google+ might just be a good choice.

5. Instagram

Instagram is a photo sharing site operated by Facebook Inc. that enables its users to capture and share pictures. To make matters worse, only certain types of accounts — those with more than 200,000 followers — are allowed to tag themselves in any photo.
Follow some accounts that relate to your niche, and comment on others' posts to build a following. People love commenting back and engaging with eachother, which you can use to your advantage to drive traffic back to your blog or website.

6. Pinterest

Pinterest is a visual bookmarking site that was started in 2010. Users can pin images or videos from around the web onto virtual “pinboards” that they create. These pinboards, or groups of boards, can serve as an effective way of collecting relevant ideas and information. As of September 2014, over 100 million unique visitors viewed more than 1 billion pages on the site each month.

7. YouTube

YouTube is a video sharing service that includes short clips called «shorts». There are billions upon billions of videos on the service, and millions of Internet users log on to view them daily. YouTube is owned by Google; therefore it makes sense that these videos are searchable on the same engine that powers Google Search.
